Wakesurf
Wakesurfing is a water sport where riders surf the wake created by a boat without being directly pulled by a rope, using balance and skill to ride the endless wave. For “regular” riders (left foot forwards) the wake is on the port side of the boat and, starboard side for “goofy” riders (right foot forwards). The boat speed is roughly 11mph but can depend on the boat model, length, and style.
For “regular” riders (left foot forwards) the wake is on the port side of the boat and, starboard side for “goofy” riders (right foot forwards). The boat speed is roughly 11mph but can depend on the boat model, length, and style. Within wakesurfing, there are two distinct styles: skim and surf.
Skim Style
Skim boards are thinner, smaller, with usually one small fin, or no fins, making them perfect for tricks like spins, shuv-its, and surface maneuvers. This style emphasizes agility and technical maneuvers, offering a skateboard-like feel on the water.

Surf Style
Surf boards are larger, thicker, and can have multiple large fins, giving them better grip and stability on the wave. This style focuses on powerful turns, aerial maneuvers, big amplitude and riding with a traditional surf feel, often emulating ocean surfing.
Both styles bring their unique challenges and thrills, allowing riders to choose the one that suits their skill set and preferred experience on the wave.
